Why choose Rebel?
Fixed Price Guarantee
Your monthly rate is locked in for the entire length of your agreement. You will not face any mid-contract price hikes or scheduled increases while you are tied in.
Built-in free months
Rather than using reward cards, longer contracts include free months automatically. You get your 13th month free on a 12-month deal, and both your 13th and 19th months free on a 24-month term.
Rolling monthly contracts
If you rent or plan to move soon, you can choose a flexible one-month rolling contract. This is a rare option on the Openreach network, though it does cost more per month than committing to a longer term.
UK-based customer support
The entire support team is based in the UK and can be reached across live chat, email, and phone. This makes resolving technical issues or billing queries much easier.
WiFi 6 router included
Every package comes with a modern WiFi 6 router at no extra cost. This standard handles multiple devices and fast full fibre speeds comfortably.
Founded in November 2021 and launched publicly in 2023, Rebel is a small, founder-led Openreach reseller run by two former BT executives. Operating out of London with a small team of under 20 people, they cover 29 million UK homes across the standard Openreach network. Around 19 million of those properties can access their FTTP/FTTC connections, with the brand aiming to reach 25 million by the end of 2026. They also have some limited availability on the CityFibre network.
Rebel competes on contract flexibility and price certainty rather than headline pricing. The main draw here is their transparent, no-tricks approach to broadband. Every deal comes with a fixed price guarantee, meaning you will not face inflation-linked price hikes or mid-contract rises while you are tied in. They also stand out by offering rolling monthly contracts alongside standard 12 and 24-month terms, plus 100% UK-based customer support across chat, email, and phone.
Because they resell standard Openreach connections rather than building their own cables, Rebel is available almost everywhere. If you can get BT, EE, or Sky at your address, you can almost certainly get Rebel. They are pushing hard on full fibre rollout in line with network targets, but they still offer older copper-based FTTC connections for properties that have not been upgraded yet. You just need to check your postcode to see which speed tiers your specific street can handle.
Rebel package types
Rebel Fibre
The Rebel 115 (24m) package delivers 109Mbps on an older FTTC connection. It suits two to three people who want to stream HD video and work from home, but the upload speeds will be noticeably slower than the full fibre tiers.
Rebel 115
Stepping up to FTTP/FTTC, the Rebel 115 (24m) tier offers 109Mbps. This is a strong fit for households of three or more people running multiple devices, and the fibre connection provides much better upload speeds for video calls.
Rebel 550
The Rebel 115 (24m) package provides 109Mbps, creating plenty of headroom for heavy use. It suits households of four or more with simultaneous streamers and gamers.
Rebel 1Gb
At the top of the range, the Rebel 115 (24m) tier delivers 109Mbps. This provides futureproofing for busy households and gamers who need to download large titles quickly, cutting a 100GB download from an hour down to around 15 minutes.
At face value, Rebel sits in the mid-range to premium bracket, with the entry-level Rebel 115 (24m) starting at £34.00 on a 24-month contract. Competitors often look cheaper at sign-up, but Rebel bakes free months into their longer deals. You get month 13 free on a 12-month contract, and both months 13 and 19 free on a 24-month commitment. Once you average those savings across the full term, the lifetime cost becomes highly competitive.
The biggest financial draw is the fixed price guarantee. Rebel does not apply any mid-contract price rises on any of their deals. The monthly rate you agree to on day one is exactly what you pay until your contract ends. They also offer a rare rolling monthly option if you want to avoid long commitments, though this flexibility comes with a meaningful premium over their standard 1-month agreements.
Rebel pros and cons
Pros
- A Fixed Price Guarantee means no mid-contract rises on any deal, so the monthly cost is locked in for the full term
- Free months are built into the longer contracts, which brings down the effective cost without relying on short term discounts
- Choose from rolling monthly, 12 month or 24 month contracts, giving you full control over how long you commit
- Trustpilot rating of 4.6 is well above average, with both Openreach and CityFibre networks available
- WiFi 6 router included as standard on every package with free setup across the range
Cons
- Monthly prices sit above many Openreach rivals at face value, so the value depends on factoring in the free months and bill credits
- The first month's payment is taken upfront when you sign up, which is unusual and worth knowing before you commit
- Rolling monthly contracts carry a notable premium over the longer deals, so full flexibility does come at a higher cost
How Rebel compares
Rebel vs BT. Rebel offers faster top speeds of 1Gbps compared to BT stopping at 900Mbps, and provides rolling monthly terms where BT only offers 24-month commitments. BT is cheaper at entry level, but they apply fixed price rises every March., whereas Rebel applies no mid-contract rises at all.
Rebel vs TalkTalk. Rebel starts at a higher entry price than TalkTalk but gives you the option of a rolling monthly contract instead of a mandatory 24-month lock-in. TalkTalk’s 24-month contracts have no rises until April 2028, while Rebel guarantees zero rises for your entire contract term.
Rebel vs YouFibre. YouFibre runs its own independent network with symmetrical upload speeds and multi-gig options, making it technically stronger where available. Rebel uses the much wider Openreach network to reach far more homes, and they offer rolling monthly terms compared to YouFibre starting at 12 months.
