Why choose YouFibre?
7Gbps top tier
This is the fastest residential speed available on the Switchity panel. It provides plenty of capacity for specific high-demand use cases.
Symmetrical upload and download
Every package delivers upload speeds that match the download speeds. Most Openreach-based providers deliver far slower uploads, making this a genuine advantage for video calls and cloud backups.
Wi-Fi 7 router included
YouFibre includes a Wi-Fi 7 router on every package, rather than restricting it to the most expensive tiers. This newer standard handles multiple high-bandwidth devices better than the more common Wi-Fi 6.
12-month contracts
Every deal runs for a 12-month term as standard. This is distinctive in a market heavily dominated by 24-month lock-ins.
No mid-contract price rises
The price you agree at checkout is locked in. You will not face inflation-linked or fixed-pounds increases during your minimum term.
Founded in December 2019 by Jeremy Chelot, YouFibre is headquartered in Tewkesbury. It operates as an independent altnet running its own full-fibre network, which is built and operated directly by its sister company Netomnia. The brand is not an Openreach or CityFibre reseller, opting instead to control its own infrastructure from the ground up.
YouFibre positions itself as a specialist provider with a small, focused range and aggressive pricing in the areas it covers. The 7Gbps maximum makes it the fastest residential option on the Switchity panel. Every package comes with fully symmetrical upload and download speeds, a Wi-Fi 7 router, and a strictly enforced 12-month contract.
Coverage is entirely postcode-dependent and patchy compared to the national incumbents. The main rollout focus is Northeast England, but the provider also serves customers across all four UK countries via its own infrastructure and the Brsk network. You must run a postcode check to see if the network is live on your street.
YouFibre package types
You 200
The You 200 package sits in the 101 to 500Mbps band, providing 200Mbps for £24.00 a month. It suits households of three or more with HD streaming, gaming, and multiple devices competing for bandwidth. The symmetrical 200Mbps upload is the genuine differentiator over similarly priced older connections, proving highly useful if you regularly join video calls or back files up to the cloud.
You 1000
The You 200 package sits in the 500Mbps to 1Gbps band, delivering 200Mbps for £24.00 a month. This tier suits busy households of four or more people with multiple streamers and gamers running at once. It provides comfortable headroom to spare.
You 2000
The You 200 package pushes into multi-gig territory, offering 200Mbps for £24.00 a month. This tier is for specific use cases rather than general household size, letting gamers download large AAA titles in minutes or helping remote workers shift big files to the cloud. The symmetrical 1.8Gbps upload is the standout feature here.
You 8000
The You 200 package is the fastest residential tier on the Switchity panel, providing 200Mbps for £24.00 a month. This caters directly to content creators uploading large video projects and home server users backing up terabytes of data across the network. Keep in mind that only wired devices see the full benefit, as typical Wi-Fi devices will not saturate this connection even on Wi-Fi 7.
YouFibre aims for budget-to-mid positioning for entry speeds, while sitting in the premium bracket for the multi-gig options. The YouFibre You 200 package (200Mbps) currently starts at £24.00 a month. That entry point makes it one of the lowest priced 200Mbps full-fibre options on the panel. The brand does not currently offer gift cards or cashback incentives.
YouFibre explicitly does not apply mid-contract price rises on any deal. The price you agree to at sign-up is exactly what you pay for the full duration of your term. Every deal sits on a 12-month contract, providing a meaningful difference from the major providers that lock customers in for two years.
YouFibre pros and cons
Pros
- No mid-contract price rises on any deal, so the price you sign up for is the price you pay throughout
- Every contract is 12 months, which means you are never locked in for more than a year
- Fully symmetrical upload and download speeds across the range, which is ideal for video calls, cloud backups and working from home
- A WiFi 7 router is included as standard on every package, not just the top tier
- Speeds reach up to 7Gbps, which is the fastest residential broadband available from any UK provider we list
Cons
- Only available where YouFibre or Brsk have built their own network, so coverage is patchy and postcode dependent
- Just four packages to choose from, so there is not much room to land on a speed and price that sits between the tiers
- An upfront fee may apply, so check whether that is included when comparing the total annual cost
How YouFibre compares
YouFibre vs BT. YouFibre offers a faster 7Gbps maximum compared to BT 900Mbps and is cheaper at entry level for a significantly faster connection. BT applies fixed-pounds mid-contract price rises every March and locks you in for 24 months, whereas YouFibre sets flat prices on 12-month contracts. BT frequently offers reward cards to new customers, which YouFibre lacks.
YouFibre vs Sky. YouFibre beats the Sky 5Gbps maximum with its 7Gbps top tier and costs less at entry level for a faster speed. Sky contracts run for 24 months but prices could change during the term, while YouFibre guarantees the price for 12 months. Sky usually offers gift card incentives to sign up, but YouFibre relies purely on lower monthly pricing.
YouFibre vs Zzoomm. Both are independent altnets running their own infrastructure with symmetrical speeds, Wi-Fi 7 routers, and 12-month contracts. YouFibre offers a faster 7Gbps speed over the Zzoomm 2.3Gbps maximum and is cheaper at entry level. Zzoomm deals state that prices may rise during the contract and offer switching credit, whereas YouFibre fixes the price completely and offers no switching credit.
