Why choose Hey Broadband?
No mid-contract price rises
The monthly rate you sign up for is locked in for the full two years. Around half the providers on the market offer this, but it remains a strong advantage over major networks that schedule annual increases.
Own-network full fibre
Hey Broadband runs on independent FTTP infrastructure built by F&W Networks rather than reselling Openreach lines. This gives you a direct fibre connection with the symmetrical or near-symmetrical upload speeds typical of dedicated networks.
£100 switching credit
You get a £100 bill credit applied to your account when you switch to them using the One Touch Switch system. Many providers offer switching incentives, but a clear £100 credit helps offset early costs.
Free Norton 360 Deluxe
Customers taking the fastest gigabit tier receive a 12-month subscription to Norton 360 Deluxe included at no extra cost. Bundled security software is rare among alternative networks and adds practical value to the fastest package.
Free setup and router
Every package includes a free router and free standard installation. This is common among alternative networks but still worth noting since some older providers continue to charge setup fees.
Hey Broadband is a regional alternative network founded in 2019 and headquartered in Altrincham, Cheshire. They are not a national provider and they do not resell Openreach connections. Instead, they run their own full fibre service using infrastructure built by F&W Networks, an independent operator that has reached around 410,000 premises. Their customer base is small but growing, passing 35,000 users in March 2025.
The main draw here is the simple setup. You get a direct fibre connection with symmetrical or near-symmetrical upload speeds, plus UK-based customer support. They also bundle a 12-month Norton 360 Deluxe subscription on their fastest package. Because they sit on dedicated independent infrastructure, the network is built specifically for full fibre delivery.
The catch is that you can only get Hey Broadband if you live in their specific footprint. Coverage is strictly limited to the South East of England. They serve areas around Oxford, Reading, Guildford and Brighton, along with surrounding towns across Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and West Sussex. You will need to check your postcode to see if their cables run down your street.
Hey Broadband package types
Superfast 150Mbps
This entry tier sits comfortably in the 101 to 500Mbps band, making it highly capable for a household of three or more people. It handles high-quality streaming, online gaming and multiple devices running at once without struggling. For most standard households, this provides all the capacity you actually need.
Megafast 400Mbps
Stepping up to 400Mbps gives you significant headroom for heavier usage. This tier suits homes with several demanding users watching 4K streams on different screens simultaneously. It is also a strong fit for remote workers who regularly sync large files using cloud collaboration tools, offering extra bandwidth rather than just essential capacity.
Gigafast 900Mbps
The highest tier delivers speeds nearing a full gigabit, aimed at large households of four or more heavy users who want futureproofing. The full fibre connection provides fast upload speeds for content creators and reliable cloud backups, while the included Norton 360 Deluxe subscription adds value. Keep in mind that getting these speeds to your wireless devices requires good hardware, though modern Wi-Fi 6 routers handle it much better than older equipment.
Hey Broadband sits in the middle of the pack for entry-level pricing but offers strong value at the top end. Their Superfast 150Mbps package at 150Mbps currently starts from £23.00 a month, with the gigabit option usually costing only a few pounds more. Every package comes with a free router and free standard installation, plus a £100 bill credit when you switch using the One Touch Switch process.
The standout feature of their pricing is the complete lack of mid-contract rises. The price you agree to on day one is exactly what you pay for the entire term, making it much easier to budget than the structured increase models used by most major providers.
The main downside is flexibility. Hey Broadband only offers 24-month contracts. There are no 12-month, 18-month or rolling monthly options available. This is a genuine limitation if you rent your home or just prefer not to be tied down for two years.
Hey Broadband pros and cons
Pros
- No mid-contract price rises on any deal, so your monthly bill stays the same for the full 24 months
- Very little price difference between the entry level and top tier packages, making the fastest speeds easy to justify
- Norton 360 Deluxe is included free for 12 months on the gigabit package, adding security software without an extra cost
- A simple three package lineup with free router and free installation across the board
- Supports One Touch Switch, so moving from your current provider is straightforward with minimal hassle
Cons
- Only available where Hey! has built its own network, so coverage is limited to specific areas
- No shorter contract option, so you are locked into 24 months whichever package you go for
- Trustpilot rating of 4.0 is respectable but sits a step below the top rated altnet providers
How Hey Broadband compares
Hey Broadband vs BT. Both providers offer top speeds around 900Mbps, but Hey Broadband is cheaper at the entry level while delivering a faster full fibre connection. BT applies fixed price rises during the contract, whereas Hey Broadband guarantees a flat price for the full 24-month contract.
Hey Broadband vs Virgin Media. Virgin Media is slightly faster at the top end and often cheaper on its headline entry tier, though its cable network delivers slower upload speeds than Hey Broadband’s full fibre. Virgin Media applies scheduled price rises during the contract, whereas Hey Broadband commits to zero increases across the entire 24-month term.
Hey Broadband vs NOW Broadband. These two are often matched on entry-level pricing, but Hey Broadband delivers more than double the speed at that price point and goes significantly faster at the top end. NOW Broadband contracts state your price could change during the term, making Hey Broadband’s flat-price guarantee stronger for budgeting.
